SIMPLE LINEAR REGRESSION & MULTI LINEAR REGRESSION

Simple Linear Regression is a statistical technique, that allows us to calculate the value of a Dependent variable based on the value of one Independent variable.

Where as Multi Linear Regression refers to a statistical technique that allows us to calculate the value of Dependent variable based on the value of two or more Independent variables .

In simple words , Multi Linear Regression is the enlargement of simple linear regression.

Multi Linear Regression is the type of Regression where the dependent variable shows a Linear relationship with the two or more Independent variables.

Example:

Selling Price of a car

Simple Linear Regression :

If the selling price of a car just or only depends on the brand value of the car is simple linear regression.

Multi Linear Regression :

Where as ,If the selling price of the car depends upon the brand value , engine size, number of doors, cruise ,mileage and many other factors then it is called Multi Linear Regression.
