What is data?

Data is a collection of distinct information.

what is First-party data?

First-party data is the information you collect directly from your audience or customers. It is more accurate than other types of data.

For example:Bank websites, etc.

So these websites collect information directly from customers. So all the information is more accurate.

What is Second-party data?

One company's first-party data is second-party data for its partner company. Second-party data examples include social media profiles, customer feedback and surveys, and website activity.

For example: A hotel booking company purchases an airline company's first-party data to target the users with ads for hotel packages to their preferred or past destinations.

What is Third-party data?

Third-party data is collected from a variety of websites and platforms and then packaged up by a data provider or aggregator.

The aggregator then collects it into one large dataset and sells it as third-party data.

After aggregating this data, providers organize them into categories based on aspects such as industry, audience behaviors and interests, and demographics such as age and gender.

Then each category is broken down into specific segments and the buyer chooses which particular segment they want to buy.

The third-party provider:

  1. On Audience

  2. Lotame

  3. Eyeota

  4. Oracle etc.
